Chemical Engineering ITB had the wonderful opportunity to attend the 𝐁𝐊𝐊𝐏𝐈𝐈 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 held at Universitas Indonesia, carrying the theme “Optimizing Chemical Engineering’s Strategic Role for Safe and Sustainable Industrialization.”

The event also served as a platform for broadening the perspectives of Chemical Engineering ITB students, equipping them with insights on how the discipline can contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), from advancing clean energy (SDG 7) and driving industry innovation (SDG 9), to promote responsible production (SDG 12) and supporting climate action (SDG 13).

Some highlights included:

🔹Keynote by Prof. Dr. Ir. Widodo Wahyu Purwanto, DEA on the role of chemical engineers in advancing sustainability and net zero, emphasizing technological transition, decarbonization, and reforming chemical engineering education.
🔹There were also diverse parallel sessions covering a wide range of topics, including chemitechnopreneurship, process design and retrofit, product research and development, process safety, geothermal, petrochemicals, oleochemicals, and the applications of artificial intelligence in chemical engineering.

The torch was passed to the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) to host the 𝐁𝐊𝐊𝐏𝐈𝐈 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, which will coincide with the 85th Anniversary of Chemical Engineering Education in Indonesia.
