Indonesia Chemical Engineering Event (I-Challenge) 2019 is a product design competition organized by the Chemical Engineering Student Association of Universitas Brawijaya. This competition has been successfully held in the last 5 years and this year was attended by participants from various universities in the Southeast Asian region. This year, I-Challenge took the theme “Appropriate Innovation to Optimize the Potential of Natural Resource Concepts to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals”.

The team from Chemical Engineering ITB with “Pineattery: Pineapple-Skin Based Biobattery” products succeeded through the process of abstract selection, paper selection, and the Grand Final. The Grand Final was attended by a team from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Gajah Mada University, Ten November Institute of Technology, National Technology Institute of Malang, International Semen Indonesia University, and PEM Akamigas Cepu. With the spirit of utilizing the high potential of pineapple skin waste and in order to fulfill national energy needs, the Pineattery Team won 2nd place in the 2019 I-Challenge final which was held on Friday, April 12 2019
