MARSS is a Scientific Paper Competition organized by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. This year, the theme of the competition was “Be an Outstanding Generation in the Advancement of Science and Technology through Diversity and Inclusion towards society 5.0”. The competition was done in two stages, the first was paper submission, and the second was the virtual exhibition where the finalists had to present their paper in the form of poster and video.

The awarding event was held on March 27th, in which the team from Chemical Engineering ITB won the gold medal. The team consists of 5 people; Attaya Artemis, Jovan Natalius Marcos, Rafi Ramadhan Seba, Rosemary Emmanuela Dame, and Timotius Weslie, and was guided by Dr. Eng. Jenny Rizkiana, S.T., M.T. The team proposed a solution titled “Utilization of Microalgae and Carbon Dioxide via Hydrothermal Carbonization As A Novel Approach To Create Environmentally Friendly Solid Fuel”
