Background:
I have a bachelor degree in chemical engineering, and after I graduated, I worked for a tile manufacturing company for more than two years. I enter the company as a management trainee. I had a chance to rotate to several programs before I decided to pursue my master degree.
Further motivation at ITB:
I knew ITB from my friend, and I thought I would give it a try. From my research, I know that ITB is the best engineering university in Indonesia, and I want to experience and be a part of it. My decision to study in Indonesia is also because I want to feel how it is like to live in a different country with cultural similarities with my home country. And I am pleased that I made that decision.
Interesting experience studying for a Masters at ITB:
The lecturers are highly skilled in multiple disciplines, and they also shared their experience working with industries. I have learnt so much from them that I can apply the knowledge in the future. Apart from that, my friends are amicable, and I feel like I have a family here. We got to perform and see lecturers perform some musical acts at ChemNight. There is also a karaoke room if you want to sing too. The facilities are complete, like the main library, gym, swimming pool, and many clubs or associations that you can join. I am also amazed that ITB has a separate faculty’s library that caters for Chem Eng students.

Motivation:
Continuing my postgraduate studies is a valuable opportunity to further learn from expert lecturers and further develop my knowledge in Chemical Engineering. After graduating with a bachelor's degree and working for 11 years, I felt the need for additional, more in-depth academic knowledge to complement the skills I had acquired during my career. After reviewing the curriculum for the Master of Chemical Engineering – Process Engineering program, I found a good fit between the courses offered and my needs. By enrolling in the Master of Chemical Engineering – Process Engineering program, I hope to sharpen and strengthen my scientific foundation in the process field to help solve problems at work.

My Experience Studying for a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering at ITB:
Taking a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering after graduating and working for 11 years presented its own challenges in adapting learning methods. Lecturers have developed numerous teaching methods and conducted research to actively engage students in independent and in-depth study, especially during the pandemic, which necessitated online classes. However, these conditions did not limit learning opportunities, but rather expanded their reach. Time and location arrangements are more flexible while still prioritizing the integrity of the academic community. This boarderless study experience is an interesting role model for the future.
