
On Thursday, 27 November 2025, the Chemical Engineering Program at ITB welcomed PT Tata Metal Lestari for a follow-up discussion on the ongoing Collaboration Agreement (PKS) between PT TML and the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) ITB. This meeting marked an important step in advancing joint initiatives in research, innovation, and talent development for Indonesia’s green steel industry. green steel di Indonesia.
During the session, both parties explored several strategic programs, including:
🔹 Applied research collaboration on emissions, material recovery, low-carbon processes Carbon Capture & Utilization (CCU), and green hydrogen
🔹 Program magang untuk mahasiswa Teknik Kimia dengan fokus pada process engineering dan keberlanjutan lingkungan
🔹 Kuliah tamu dan knowledge-sharing mengenai teknologi green steel
🔹 Studi Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) dan analisis emisi awal untuk produk pelapisan baja
🔹 Perencanaan implementasi kegiatan bersama dalam kerangka PKS
This partnership underscores a shared commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s green steel ecosystem through evidence-driven research and industry–academia collaboration. The initiatives aligned here contribute directly to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), supporting the nation’s broader decarbonization roadmap.
